Last Updated: Morning Running

June 03, 2002

So I was talked into registering for the New York City Marathon. I used to run in high school and a little in college but nowhere near the 26.6 mile mark I'm looking at in November. At first I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to do it but now, now I'm convinced I won't be able to do it! That's not true, I'm sure I'll be fine by November. I started running again yesterday morning. A simple route, down West Houston to the West Side Highway, down the WSH making a left on Spring Street, up Spring making a left on Thompson and up to my door. I'm not sure of the exact distance but I'm able to do it in under 10 minutes. It's a good start I think although again, it's nowhere near the distance I'm going to need to be able to run. The best part of it is getting up and out first thing in the morning. For the past few weeks I've had a lot of trouble motivating every day. This appears to be helping.

Also, check out NYC bloggers. (via Glenda) They're keeping tabs on all of the blogs in NYC based on subway stop. What a great idea. And the winner of most blogs per subway stop, Astor Place. (thanks Justin)
