Franz Ferdinand

I'm not sure if I've posted this before but I did get into Franz Ferdinand. I like their tunes and the video for Take Me Out is great. This evening I was sitting at home working on a proposal with The History Channel on in the background airing Modern Marvels, World War I Tech (a welcome break from World War II). During the program I heard the narrator mention Franz Ferdinand. Turns out he was an Archduke from Austria, and not a very happy one at that:

"Much has been said about Franz Ferdinand and very little of it good. He has been referred to as a miser, a bigot, and a spoiled child. Shunned by the elite of Viennese society, he was also called "the loneliest man in Vienna". He lacked the two key elements for success in this social scene - charm and elegance."

Interesting bit of history which has worked it's way into pop culture. I still like their tunes though, even though they are named after a spoiled archduke.
