An intersting article was sent to me by
Andrew. I've been watching this trend for a while now and have seen it very clearly in my own life. There is a constant struggle between the happiness that comes with success and the struggle to obtain/maintain that happiness. What really constitutes that happiness is a very individual thing. Originally I believed it to be making a good salary and taking the standard 3 weeks of vacation a year. In my current situation I'm lucky if I get a weekend off. Sure I can change my work habits and concentrate more on my social/family life but that would require major lifestyle changes that are not easy.
The
original article, which is mentioned in the one Andrew sent me is from the Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 issue of Newsday.
